About

I grew up in a small Cajun part of Louisiana that you’ve never heard of, but if you make fun of it, I may hurt you.

I went to LSU in Baton Rouge intending to become a lawyer, but I found I liked journalism more. I completed internships at newspapers, a TV station and a non-profit.

The most interesting item on my resume is my stint at the International Herald Tribune during my junior year in Paris. Today, I will very annoyingly start speaking in French at the slightest opportunity.

My first job out of college was at The Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson, Mississippi. Eventually, I moved to Portland, Oregon for an adventure and yes, I do like it. I work as the Web editor for the Daily Journal of Commerce, a business paper, and I freelance for Just Out, an LGBT weekly.

When I’m not at work, I’m eating, drinking, singing karaoke and finding the quirkiest Portland things to do and make fun of (it’s not hard). I’m also trying to get a part in a play, so I’m trying to learn how to sing, dance and act. Triple threat!

I’m an ENFJ on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, if you’re into that sort of thing.
